REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Dr. William Montague Cobb Education Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating minority high school Senior.

  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year institution within the United States.

  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service.

  • Present evidence of financial need.

  • Be a United States citizen.

  • A minimum combined SAT score of 1,000 on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21.

  • 3.0 GPA or higher​

Application Checklist/Certification of Information

The required components of the Dr. William Montague Cobb Education Foundation application are:

  • Complete application package – incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Essay on a specified topic.

  • Two (2) sealed recommendation letters (from a church, high school, or community leader are NOT a relative).

  • Verification of academic records by a high school counselor includes confirmation of cumulative GPA at the time of application and SAT or ACT scores.

  • Proof of acceptance to a four-year college or university.

We will not accept any scholarship applications or supporting documents via email or fax. Applications and letters of recommendation will only be accepted online or via U.S. Mail to the following address:

Verification

Applicants invited to interview with the review committee will be required to bring copies of the documents listed below to the interview.

  • Official high school transcript

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship

  • Student Aid Report
